Wilton Springer

Workshops coordinator

Wilton (he/him) is a local mechanical engineer and maker. In grad school he was a course assistant in the Stanford Product Realization Lab (PRL), and helped lead over 1,000 undergraduate and graduate students through their design process. In the PRL, he taught the fundamentals of manufacturing in a machine shop, wood shop, foundry, plastics lab, rapid prototyping lab, and welding lab.

While often fascinated by technical details and understanding the inner workings of anything from complex machines to the human body, Wilton's favorite projects center around hands-on making, problem solving, and figuring out how best to poke fun at Gary.

Wilton grew up in Wilson, Wyoming, and his love for hiking, biking, backpacking and skiing around the Teton range runs in his family. He is also a licensed falconer, and currently works with an American Kestrel named Newt.
