The Spark of Invention
The Wonder Institute didn’t start with a building; it started with a belief: that the most powerful force for community change is the act of making. Founded in 2007 as a catalyst for creative education, we spent over a decade proving that when you invest in people, they build a future for everyone. Through more than $1,000,000 in community grants, we didn't just fund projects; we built a foundation of trust and collaboration that reached 70,000 participants.
From Theory to Hardware
The next evolution of our mission took place in the workshops of Jackson Hole High School. We saw that when students were given the tools to dream, they didn't just meet expectations, they exceeded them. Through the NASA HUNCH program and FIRST Robotics, students moved from classroom theory to creating professional-grade hardware for the International Space Station.
This experience taught us a vital lesson: Access is the only thing standing between curiosity and career. We realized that tools like CNC routers and 3D printers shouldn't be locked behind private doors; they belong in the hands of the community.

Democratizing Mastery: Our Future Vision
Here at home, we are no longer just a series of programs; we are building a permanent, valley-wide system to ensure every Jackson resident has a path to success. By exporting our blueprint to partners like Wyoming Indian High School, we are proving that these skills can transform any community.
-
The WonderLabs: Open-access studios for woodworking, sewing, and silversmithing where neighbors build side-by-side.
-
WonderLearn: A dedicated hub at South Park Loop designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world trades.
-
WonderLaunch: Strategic partnerships with Central Wyoming College and local businesses to turn hands-on skills into industry-recognized credentials.
Why We Exist
We believe the valley is stronger when everyone has a path forward. Whether you are a student building a robot, a working parent learning a new trade, or a neighbor making something just for the joy of it—Wonder is for you.
We aren't just teaching people how to use tools. We are providing the tools so our community can lead.
